Here, taste this
Soooo. Its been a long while since last writing you.
Back on April 9th, I ran across a very intriguing musician in the Court Square subway station. I had noticed her playing a few times before while I scurried to the E-train headed to something that I must have felt was important. - I have an obsession with punctuality. Well, it may exceed obsession. Whatever, its my problem not yours, ding dong. On this particular outing I was merely strolling to the E train not hauling on hooves while mooing madly so I had time to spare.
Her name is June Moris. She had a great demeanor as she played a tite Tele. I told her I had been recording music in NYC and asked if I could record her playing something she enjoyed. She played a damn fine version of a Raiohead song that popped the passers by out of their bubbles and onto there knees in appreciation of the holy glory she bestowed upon them with her rocking voice that echoed down the dust colored tiles of underground Queens. It was ROCKING I TELL YOU. But, i didn't press record on my iPhone. Poop! Feeling like a damn fool I worked up the courage to ask her to play one more for us. To our luck she agreed AND I pressed Record. sweet.
So here it is June Morris playing the Smiths' Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now. Click Here

The noise, other than knees hitting the floor in pure amazement and humility, is the sound of the people mover.

The Greenpoint Search for Music Opinion
Click Here to Listen to the Interviews
Curious to know local music tastes & how well the record function on my phone behaved, I decided to take advantage of today's beautiful weather and combine the two. I had some luck (interview-wise) here and there, mostly searching for relaxed seeming individuals that would take a moment to be interviewed. Meeting some interesting people along the way, I often stayed to chat after the interview was over. It seems that people became a lot more open to spill the goods once the recording ended. Realizing this would kinda make me wish that I could start the whole interview over again. I'll need to figure that part out. I think it would be wise for me work on my interviewing skills a bit more before the next time i take a stab at this. :) Live and learn right? i think the iphone recording wasn't so bad in the end which made me happy :)

There was one extra special interview not included in this mix mainly because it was just too long. I am looking forward to posting that interview within the next couple of days. Stay Tuned

Into the Sun
I'm excited because we acquired 2 tickets to the Mets game this weekend. Are the Mets even any good? I don't follow these baseballs as much as the next guy. Is this weekend going to be nice? I'd like to get some sun.
Wait, is Citi Field covered by a fancy roofing system? All I know is that I want some beer and sunshine along with some entertainment. Dig>? hm.
I played little league and let me tell you I was quite terrible at it. Easy out #1. Hell, throw the ball anywhere and I'll swing for it. Maybe I'd freeze solid and let the ball hit me in the elbow just before I'd try and take second base for no reason. "You'd better shout what you want me to do from the dugout, Coach because I have no freakin' idea what that hand signal is supposed to mean." I think that perhaps little league baseball was the foundation for my ability to endure or omit overwhelming embarrassment.
Please enjoy this short, filmed in a now non-existent section of the Court Square Station

Git'n on down with some internet
Hey smarty pants. Thank you for reading my very first post. This is all new to me as in "i've never blogged before." We shall see how it goes. I think I just needed a page to call my own. Thanks
Soon, there will be links upon links leading to my favorite bits of internet. I think you'll enjoy my warped sense of taste and I think I'd appreciate your subscription.
I'd like to direct your attention to this inspiring Fleet Foxes performance.
Not sure if its lame to post these guys but finding this video really made my day today :)
Bye for now, I think this will go well.
Thanks for visiting
mike
